The cryptocurrency exchange Binance joins the NFT hype and launches a platform where users can present and sell digital content

Binance, one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, is launching its own non-fungible token (NFT) platform in June. NFTs have enjoyed growing popularity in the art scene and the world of digital content in recent months. With its popularity Binance now wants to become an important player in this market.

Yesterday, the stock exchange announced in a blog post : “In June, Binance launches ‘Binance NFT’, a leading global NFT marketplace and trading platform. The new marketplace brings together artists, creative minds and crypto enthusiasts from around the world.“

Binance told its users that they can expect a full program of first-class exhibitions and NFT collaboration opportunities. With its enormous liquidity and low fees, the exchange aims to attract users and artists to its platform.

The crypto exchange stated that the platform would become a leading trading venue for NFTs and digital collectibles through media such as visual art, games, music and sports. “Our goal is to create a captivating metaversum with unique offers and exclusive cooperation opportunities. Our seamless and intuitive digital platform is designed to bring together artists, creatives and crypto enthusiasts from around the world“ it continued in the blog post.

According to Binance, the NFT marketplace will be the same account system as Binance.com use so that its users can use the company’s numerous services.

In recent months, NFTs have become popular in the world of art and digital content. Last month, auction house Christie’s sold a Beeple NFT for almost $ 70 million-the most expensive NFT ever.

Since then, several artists such as The Weeknd, Eminem and Soulja Boy have also released NFTs. Companies such as TIME Magazine, Reebok, Adidas and Forbes have ventured into the emerging market.

Christie’s is not the only auction house to auction NFTs. Sotheby’s and Phillips have also already auctioned NFT pieces. More NFTs could be introduced in the coming months as the world redefines the value of art and digital content.
