Users of the Brave browser can now access 30,000 decentralized websites and 700,000 blockchain domain names registered with Unstoppable domains

The privacy-oriented web browser Brave announced yesterday a new collaboration with Unstoppable Domains, a provider of blockchain domain names. From now on, its users should be able to surf through the decentralized web with the latest Brave update.

Unstoppable domains have been around since 2018. The company sells for a one-time registration fee .crypto and other domain names. With just one domain, users can transmit and receive 50 different cryptocurrencies, eliminating the need for long, complicated crypto addresses and the risk of sending coins to incorrect addresses. Unstoppable Domains is already supported by MyEtherWallet, Coinbase Wallet, OKEx, Lite wallet, and dozens of other Wallets and exchanges.

Domain names can also refer to content hosted on the web or in a decentralized storage network such as IPFS. Unstoppable domains is supported not only by Brave but also by Opera and by extensions of Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

Matthew Gould, co-founder of Unstoppable Domains, commented: „Our mission is to integrate three billion people into the decentralized web. Brave brings us closer to this goal by millions of people. We see Web3 as the future of the Internet, where each owner is in control of their own content. The integration of Unstoppable domains allows easy access to the decentralized Internet without the need for complex browser extensions or user-defined DNS settings.“

Brave currently has more than 30 million monthly active users who now have access to 30,000 decentralized websites, including the NFT Art Gallery (non-fungible token) Brad.crypto, Kyber.crypto, an exchange for digital assets, and the decentralized video hosting provider voodfy.crypto. Brave users can also access more than 700,000 blockchain domain names registered with Unstoppable domains.

Brian Bondy, co-founder of Brave, explained: „At Brave, we see Web3 as a step into the future of digital ownership and decentralization. Unstoppable domains naturally suits us and gives our users access to the decentralized web and all .crypto domain names. From the registration of .crypto domains, hosting an NFT art gallery, transmitting and receiving cryptos-the possibilities for Brave users are limitless.“

By purchasing domain names, users also gain full control over their rights, as they are coined as NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. Websites created and hosted via Unstoppable domains form a decentralized network that, unlike traditional Domain Name Service (DNS), is not vulnerable to hijacking, phishing, or denial – of-service attacks.
